New Training DVD: Introduction to Character Creation part 1

Category: General

I’m pleased to announce Montage Studio’s third training DVD has hit the (digital) shelves! Meant as a crash course in modeling with Blender for newer users, this training DVD takes the viewer through the basics of the interface, navigation, modeling, etc. Then puts all of it to the test with a step-by-step modeling exercise in creating your first character!

This is part 1 in what will eventually be a three-part DVD series:

    Part 1: modeling
    Part 2: texturing/rendering
    Part 3: animation
But for now head on over the DVDs page for more info on the DVD, including it’s content, screenshots and even a sample video clip!

Congrats! I really hope you guys will make a bundle this time :-) ~ discounts on multiple purchases can really boost up sales with the help of resellers ;-)

Is it a real DVD? or a downloaded DVD?
If it is only a downloaded DVD, how big is it?

RedBirdiii, currently it’s only in downloadable form at 719 megs but that should change shortly. I hope to have it in a hard-copy soon.

This looks great! I’m going to purchase it right now, in fact. One question, though: Any estimates on when parts 2 and 3 are going to be released? The animation one would be particularly useful, imo, as there seems to be a scarcity of good animation tutorials (esp. character animation) for Blender.

@Jordan, if all goes well part 2 (texturing/rendering) will be out by the end of the Summer and part 3 (animation) probably some time around xmas. It’s quite possible it could be later than that, though.

@fred, I hope to release it within the next two months or so but some other things have to be finished first. I promise to get it out the second it’s done!
